La Crosse enjoys thriving relationships with sister cities, business partners, students and people from around the world. To celebrate the success of these partnerships, and build a tribute to the culture and traditions of our worldwide friends, local people are working together to create the Riverside International Friendship Gardens in Riverside Park along the banks of the beautiful Mississippi River
The first gardens to be planted will represent the style of a typical garden in each sister city. La Crosse's current sister cities are:

- Luoyang, China
- Friedberg, Germany
