Russian gardens are often casual and freestyle with a goal of making the garden appear more natural and distinct. Russian gardeners are fond of planting trees in groves. A lovely structure called a “besedka” graces the Russian Garden. Our besedka is modeled after a similar structure on the banks of the Volga River in Dubna and is dedicated to David Bell and all of the volunteers who have contributed to this sister city relationship. Plans call for two sculptures to provide focal points in the garden, along with a few benches for relaxing and enjoying the scenery.
